Sugar worker stabbed in robbery

A sugar worker is nursing injuries at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was stabbed during a robbery along Agriculture Road at Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara on Friday.

Deon Adolph, of 70 Republic Drive, Beterverwagting, was stabbed three times about his body in the attack.

According to a relative, the man was walking along the road on Friday morning when a man attacked him from behind and demanded his money. The relative said Adolph put up a fight and was stabbed to his abdomen and shoulder.

His attacker escaped with his cell phone and some $38,000 in cash.

Adolph was rushed to the hospital, where he is currently being treated.
