At about 2150h. last night, police say that Bharat Kellawan, 18 years, of Garnett Street, Campbellville, was walking along Sheriff Street when two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, confronted him and demanded his valuables.
During the incident the man with the firearm discharged a round which struck the victim to his groin.
Kellawan has been admitted to the GPHC for medical treatment, as the investigations continue.
