‘Day of Interaction’ at Enterprise

More than 500 persons gathered at the Enterprise Community Development Centre ground as early as 8am on Sunday for the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport’s fun-filled ‘Day of Interaction.’

Before the start of activities, Minister Dr Frank Anthony told the gathering that the ‘Day of Interaction’ aims to highlight the importance of exercise and sport for a healthy lifestyle. The programme, which is held countrywide, sees a large gathering of athletes, families, sports aficionados and health-minded persons for a day of competitive games and physical fitness, a report from the ministry said.

Director of Sport, Neil Kumar thanked the communities for participating and encouraged the athletes to continue playing sports which to boost their physical fitness and academic education.

Several sports were played at the event, at highly competitive levels. Some were also divided in senior and junior categories to ensure maximum participation.

Three school teams competed in softball cricket competition at the junior level while Bladen Hall Secondary School played football at the senior level. Kavita Yadram, a national player at both windball and hardball, joined other players who have played in national competitions in the ladies’ matches.

Meanwhile, Dr Pradeep Balram, a member of the National Sports Commission, Dr Kissoon, Chief Medical Officer, GuySuCo and Balkissoon, former Caribbean Table Tennis Junior Champion lent their expertise and officiated the table tennis competition. Volleyball and domino competitions were also held.
