Whenever Guyana is represented with its Golden Arrowhead flying among world flags, it gives me great joy.
One person who represented Guyana with distinction is none other than Miss Alana Seebarran, Miss India Worldwide 2012. As much as her accomplishment and victory followed a major controversy with the local planning committee which was reported via the press and her non-appearance in Dubai to crown the 2013 winner, she made it to the history books of Guyana and that we must always appreciate. She did absolutely brilliantly and brought an international crowning moment to Guyana.
I will even go further to say that Miss Seebarran is an ideal and unique beauty ambassador who is the total package to represent Guyana at any Miss Universe or Miss World Pageant. That said, Guyana should consider a stamp in honour of this young lady’s international accomplishment.
For the record, I have never met this young woman; I don’t know her personally and have never spoken to her.
