‘Sterling performance’ of community policing groups

Dear Editor,

The National Community Policing Executives (NCPE) would like the general public to become aware of the sterling performance of the following community policing groups. The NCPE wishes to commend the eight members of the Mosquito Hall Community Policing Group ECD who along with a police constable from Mahaica Police Station on February 1 detained a man wanted for the murder of Nandram Manouar in 2003. They took the man to the Mahaica Police Station and handed him over to the police who later charged him.

The NCPE also commends the Grove, EBD group who on February 9 in conjunction with two rural constables and a cadet officer from the Diamond Police Station, EBD discovered a hijacked silver 212 Car on Busbee Dam. The NCPE also commends the members of the Grove, EBD group and the Diamond cadet officer who acting on information discovered 513 grams of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis sativa in a one-gallon plastic paint container on premises in Grove. The occupant of the premises is now assisting the police with their investigations.

Yours faithfully,

Edward A Persaud

Public Relations Officer
