How much money did the National Family Commission intend to spend on bringing Dr Munroe here?

Dear Editor,

It was reported that the National Family Commission was going to bring in Dr Myles Munroe, the senior pastor of Bahamas Faith Ministries International Fellowship. Dr Munroe on his previous visits to Guyana had been impressed by Guyana’s transformation and amazing changes and development.

Dr Munroe had generated controversy in the Bahamas with his cautionary statements about ‘marital rape.’.

Does the National Family Commission believe as Dr Munroe does (https://bfmmm.com/community-forum.aspx) that “‘violent rape’ could and may occur in marriage and should be legally prevented, and judged by society, but the framework and context for this judgment must not jeopardize the security and in some cases the fragility of the marriage institution.”

Would the National Family Commission say how much money they had intended to spend on bringing Dr Munroe to speak to men? And what is their budget to support the NGOs and women and men of all faiths and no faith who do not have private jets and who struggle for funding for their work across Guyana against domestic and sexual violence?

Yours faithfully,
