Dear Editor,
The ruling party has expressed a lack of confidence in Gecom. This translates in my mind to a lack confidence in themselves. There were the agitators (yours truly as well) who said that there should have been a vote no confidence since 2012. Yet we persevered.
The Alliance For Change has now attached itself securely to wagon of No Confidence in the government. I for my own part will not attach myself to that wagon unless the AFC and APNU after attaching themselves to this wagon decide that they would contest the next general elections with one representative of the list.
It would be utter foolishness for there to be a vote of no confidence in the House and when we are out of the House we divorce and go our separate ways. It is time for the leadership to rid itself of those conspiracy theories that they can only attract the Indian vote if they stay out of APNU. The APNU are their brothers and sisters of all races who want to move this country forward and set things right. There are far too many injustices being committed, and too many murders and robberies, while out women aren’t safe and our young men stagnate. The public services are nothing but modern day indentureship. Do not waste my time and the people of Guyana’s time if you are not prepared to make a bold and correct decision. We should have done this since 2011. It’s time we lay the groundwork now.
