Bare Root, a once troubled community located at the back of Bachelor’s Adventure is once again congratulating its children for another splendid performance at this year’s National Grade Six Assessment, after Candacy Prince and Donavon Sullivan raised the bar in 2005 and 2006 gaining places at Annandale Secondary and President’s College respectively.
The community has been seeing steady passes for senior secondary schools, and this year is no exception. Samantha Beverny earned a place at Bishops’ High School, and what is more significant about the children’s success is that while a lot of children across the country are facing challenges in Mathematics, Samantha secured 133 marks out of a possible 136 marks, taking first place in Mathematics and sharing first place in science with a student of Enterprise Primary School. Teneassa Francis repeated a similar performance at Paradise Primary School gaining 127 marks in Mathematics and securing a tie for first place in science.
As a parent, teacher and mentor I urge the children to continue studying, since education is pivotal to their development. The community is congratulating Jaheim Bowen, Sarah Jacobs, Alia Cush and Shenika Griffith who secured places at Annandale Secondary.
