It is more than one shot fired in the air. It is the single shot that will continue to reverberate around the world of Guyanese. It will ricochet for a long, long time.
The PNC has more than shot itself in the foot; this is a self-inflicted detonation of immeasurable proportions, and of, perhaps, irreparable significance.
The implications and reach of that shot, and the damning picture are fodder for the ruling party. It members must be salivating, and beside themselves with joy. The PNC has provided live ammunition (no pun) for the PPP to share with its own – especially its fence-sitters. If that can happen in their open house and within their own family, then what about you…? On the ropes, the PPP has gotten a full-fledged reprieve and licence to proceed even more merrily than before.
This is a fateful moment. Where is Mr Granger? Where will his party come out on this? Quite frankly, this will take a herculean effort to undo, and I don’t see such happening.
