Who are the members of the DCB executive?

Dear Editor,

It is noted in a newspaper of August 22 that W&H Rambaran is sponsoring the Demerara Cricket Board (DCB). It was also stated that this company was founded in the early 1990s and, according to a press release from the unknown DCB executives, the company’s aim is to propel Guyana into the 21st century to make its customers’ boating experience better in the long run. W&H Rambaran Mariner Outboard Engines are number one on the water, and supply Mariner and Mercury outboard engines, spare parts and accessories. Now that this generous company is sponsoring the DCB, they may be obliged to let the members of the DCB and the general public know who the executives of the Demerara Cricket Board are. The photograph published seemed to indicate that Raj Singh and Anand Kalladeen are President and Treasurer respectively, but when and where were they elected and by whom?

I recall the two major constituent members of the DCB, the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) and the East Coast Cricket Board (ECCB) sought and obtained an injunction from Justice Madam Diana Insanally blocking Rajendra Singh, Lalta Digamber, Anand Sanasie, Alfred Mentore, Anand Kalladeen, Ravindranauth Persaud, Ronald (Rohan) Sarjoo, Nazimul Drepaul, Colin Europe, Ray Persaud, Krisnchand Mangal, Chetram Singh, Lionel Jaikaran, Ramsey Ali, Fizul Bacchus, Dru Bahadur, Troy Mendonca and Rayon Griffith from holding elections for the DCB on January 25, 2013 or on any other date. This injunction is still active and the matter is still before the court.

Since Raj Singh has not announced the names of those who are purporting to be the executives of the DCB, presumably for fear of contempt of court proceedings, we call on W&H Rambarran to announce their names.

Yours faithfully,

Lalman Seecharran
