NIS and Guysuco continue to collaborate to shut out workers from the benefits they earn through years of toiling in the fields. What would Dr. Cheddi Jagan say if he was alive to witness what Guysuco and NIS are doing to Suresh Ramanand, one of the many who were wronged by Guysuco and the NIS?
We want to raise the case of Mr. Suresh Ramanand from Enterprise Squatting Area. He worked with the industry since 1979 as a cane cutter but Guysuco only made 204 contributions for this man when they ought to have made at least 408 contributions. His record from 1989 to 2006 just disappeared. Just unbelievable!
Many cane cutters on the Enmore Estate face the same dilemma, non-existent contributions for years when they were on staff at Guysuco. This is a troubling development and we call on the union GAWU to give proper representation to their members.
