Spare a thought for all the genuinely committed people

Dear Editor,

As I read Mr. S. E Isaacs- Clerk of the National Assembly’s, intelligent and guided opinion on the authority to convene Parliament, I couldn’t help but think, here is a man who is just doing his job to the best of his ability.

There are so many others like him; good, decent people who are just doing their jobs and are caught in a culture of hate, judgment and condemnation.

Good people of Guyana- stop and spare a thought for all the genuinely committed people, who are just doing their job and making a real effort to contribute to building a better society. Not because they have an agenda, or something to gain- it doesn’t have to be.

Some of us are simply driven to do our best, for our children and our children’s children and for the greater good of humanity. So, to all of the hardworking moms and dads, teachers, police officers, nurses, faith leaders, social workers, community organizers, social entrepreneurs, public servants, elected officials and others, who are ostracized and criticized by those who are driven by personal agenda and hatred- don’t be discouraged, do not lose heart, and do not get weary in doing good.

Indeed, he who watches over never slumbers or sleeps.

Blessings and peace.

Yours faithfully,
Rev. Chris Bowman
Chairman
General Assembly of the Church of God
