Animal control a big issue

Dear Editor,

Animal control is definitely a big issue in our nation. Cows, horses, donkeys, cats and dogs roam our streets and living environment with impunity, every conceivable place an animal can be found without anyone to contact to account for them. The damage caused/created by these strays runs into millions.

Cows and horses especially invade new housing areas to find fresh grazing, these animals are 90% of the time left unmanaged and destroy kitchen crops, water lines connected by GWI, break down fences and damage the surface of private property, holes are left by the hoofs, traffic hazards are immense. There is damage to vehicles, playfields and bus stops are desecrated.

Stray animals are found on the streets of Georgetown, and in every county and region in our nation.

Something must be done by our law makers soon to address this scourge before things get out of control further.

The roaming of any kind of animal should be banned from streets unsupervised.

I know that every person has to make a living but this must not be done at the inconvenience of citizens.

Yours faithfully,
Bishop Ivan John
