With reference to Dr S Surujbally’s Nov 2, 2014 Pet Corner column on euthanasia, I have two comments: First, he wrote, “I remember a supposed pet lover and animal activist holding a bundle of kittens under water …” That prompted several friends to call and ask if I knew who he was referring to. I wish to inform the public to rest assured it was not me. Second, the good doctor forgot to mention that the GSPCA does use the captive bolt/gunshot method to put down adult dogs. I know because every time I take in a dog destined for euthanasia $1000 is paid so they will use a lethal injection rather than the gun.
