Letter was sent on behalf of Walter Rodney Youth Movement

Dear Editor,

I refer to a letter from Freddie Kissoon in the SN of December 10 captioned, ‘SN should not have allowed letter-writer to withhold name,’ which referred to a letter in the SN of December 9 titled ‘This is the perfect time for young people to take a stand.’

I fully understand and accept the argument made by Mr Kissoon. It was requested that the name of the writer be withheld so as to put focus on the organisation, however this was probably not communicated clearly since it was not stated that the letter was from the Walter Rodney Youth Movement. If I had known that the lack of a name would have caused such an uproar and taken away from the substance of the letter I would not have asked for my name to be withheld. With that said, let me clearly state that the letter was written by Tabitha Sarabo-Halley on behalf of the Walter Rodney Youth Movement.

 Yours faithfully,

Tabitha Sarabo-Halley
