Bravo shines with bat and ball but fail to prevent Renegades defeat

MELBOURNE, Australia,  CMC- West Indies T20 captain Dwayne Bravo performed brilliantly with bat and ball but his efforts could not prevent the Melbourne Renegades from a narrow two run loss to Sydney Sixers in a semi-final match of Australia’s Big Bash over the weekend.

Bravo returned bowling figures of one for 23 off four overs and led the charge, top-scoring with 38 off 30 balls, before he fell in the 19th over at Etihad Stadium.

His first over as a Renegade was both eventful and unlucky.

The Trinidadian all-rounder had Michael Lumb (18 off 16) dropped behind the wicket, before the left-hander mis-hit two successive lofted drives just over the head of mid-off.

Bravo also showed why the Renegades chased him so strongly for just two games, bowling a brilliant mix of slower balls and fast Yorkers.

Bravo’s Renegades, despite a team effort, were unable to surpass the 151 for six set by sixers.
