Jamaica defeat Windwards by 14 runs

(WICB) Port of Spain, Trinidad – Jamaica defeated the Windward Islands by 14 runs in a close encounter in the opening match of the NAGICO Super50 in Port of Spain.

Jamaica scored 282/5 from their 50 overs against the Windward Islands in the first match of the NAGICO Super50 tournament. Andre McCarthy (93) and Tamar Lambert (88) top scored for Jamaica. Mervin Matthew (3-33) was Windward Islands’ best bowler.

Windward Islands responded with 268/8 from their 50 overs. Keddy Lesporis hit an unbeaten century while Devon Smith made 52. Nikita Miller (3-35) was the best bowler for Jamaica while Tamar Lambert (2-32) took two wickets.
