Courts-sponsored 40-mile cycle road race on today

The Courts sponsored-40-mile cycle road race organized by the Flying Ace Cycle Club will take place today. The race, which will start at Marks Bridge Number 60 Stanleytown, proceed to Adventure, Corentyne and finish at Main and Alexander Streets, New Amsterdam, is open to cyclists in

Berbice only.

Last Friday, Stanley Mc Kenzie, manager of Courts New Amsterdam Branch handed over the sponsorship cheque to Randolph Roberts coach of the Flying Ace Cycle Club.

“It is part of the company’s motto to give back to the community from which it garners its support. It is also a well-known fact that Courts has been supporting community and sporting activities throughout Guyana and is one of the biggest corporate sponsors in the country,” said McKenzie.

Roberts, in reply said that the club was grateful to the company for its support.

The first six finishers overall, the first three veterans and the first three juniors will receive prizes while there will be a race for beginners.

Eight sprint point prizes are also at stake.
