Freeburg Secondary in 2-1 upset win over North Georgetown

Freeburg Secondary upset North Georgetown Secondary by a 2-1 margin when the Milo/Petra Organization Schools Football tourney continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

North Georgetown would take the early lead in the 25th minute through a Joshua Ferreira right footed strike into the lower right hand corner after cutting into the left side of the penalty area from the respective flank.

With the scores unchanged upon the conclusion of the first half, Freeburg would level proceedings in the 47th minute of the second period through a Ronell Roberts strike to the bottom of the net from within the left side of the penalty area.

Freeburg would take the lead for the first time in the encounter in the 52nd minute as Junior Simon found the back of the net with an easy finish to the right hand side after being played into a one on one situation with the North Georgetown custodian.

In the third fixture, Charlestown Secondary crushed New Campbellville Secondary 6-1. Aroydy Branford led the winners with a helmet trick in the 30th, 39th, 48th and 66th minutes while Omari James netted a brace in the 28th and 68th minutes.

In other results, Cummings Lodge Secondary edged Christ Church Secondary by a 4-3 score line while North Ruimveldt Secondary defeated arch rivals Tucville Secondary by a 3-0 margin.
