PMCC to stage one-day tournament at month end

The Port Mourant Cricket Club (PMCC) will be hosting a one day, four teams cricket competition on March 30th.

According to newly elected president of the club Vickram Seubarran, the main purpose of this fund raiser is to acquire funds for the purchase of covers for the club’s pitch.

“We will be extending invitations to three other teams, namely Bermine out of Berbice along with Demerara Cricket Club and Everest Cricket Club from Demerara, to join us on this day, for which we have sought and gotten permission from the Berbice Cricket Board, to host the activity,” he said.

The first two games will be 15 overs-a-side matches with the final being a 20/20 encounter. The teams will be entitled to three guest players per team to enhance their chances of being victorious.

A winner’s purse of $60,000 and trophy will be up for grabs, while the runners-up will pocket $40,000 and a trophy. The best performer in the final will receive a trophy.
