BK Western Tigers claw Buston United 3-1

BK Western Tigers overcame Buxton United 3-1 when the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) National Premier League continued at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda on Sunday.

Falling behind to a Denvor Dennis 25th minute strike, the West Ruimveldt outfit would level the score in the 62nd minute through a Marvin Joseph strike to the lower right hand side of the goal from within the left side of the penalty box.

Western Tigers would take the lead for the first time in the fixture as Hubert Pedro netted in the 81st minute compliments of a penalty kick conversion following a rash challenge inside the area by the Buxton defender.

The come-from-behind-win would be sealed in the 90th+3 minute as Randolph Wagner found the back of the net with a clinical finish to the right hand corner one on one with the opposing custodian, after collecting  a lobbed pass on the right side of the box from the midfield area.

In other results, Beterverwagting (BV)/Triumph United defeated Milerock FC by a 3-1 score line. Quacy Price, Romario Welcome and Kashief Jackman were on target for the winner’s in the 32nd, 84th and 85th minutes respectively.

Scoring in a losing cause was Denzil Fordyce in the 77th minute. The final fixture of the tripleheader saw Alpha United swamp Santos FC by a 7-1 margin.

Over at Guyana Defence Force (GDF) ground on Carifesta and Vlissengen Road, GDF led by a Delroy Fraser hat trick in the 54th, 66th and 76th minutes crushed Riddim Squad 6-1.

Netting a goal piece in the rout were Royan Morrison, Eusi Phillips and Desford Williams in the 12th, 81st and 90th minutes respectively. On target for the loser’s was Julian Forris in the 59th minute.
