Got To Go gallops away with the spoils

Jumbo Jet’s race horse, Got To Go, galloped to claim the spoils of the feature C3 and lower 1700M event when the Port Mourant Turf Club in collaboration with the Horse Owners Association held their meet at the Bush Lot venue on Sunday.

With jockey, Colin Ross in the stirrups, the steed trained by Deonarine “Black Boy” Ramroop was out of the starting gates quickly with California Strike, Jack is my Style, the Message and Milwaukee Blitz all battling for the lead.

Into the back stretch, there were some jostling and the contest looked wide open as the cavalry battled for the hefty $1M that was at stake.  However, it was soon realized that the horse to beat was Got to Go when it took the lead.

The front runner had enough in the tank to hold off California Strike and the fast finishing C.P Got Even to take the top prize compliments of Banks DIH Limited with Jack is My Style fourth.

The 1300M race for three year old Maiden and West Indies bred horses saw Royal Empire of The Colin Elcock stable with R. Ramnauth on the hunch making sure the Colin Elcock stables returned to winning ways in royal style. The animal blazed down the home stretch with great speed to tame front runner Release the Beast, I will Get Another and Quiet Dancer to take the 600,000 money and trophy.

Quiet Strom of the Ramoutar Stable with Ajai on the perch silenced its opponents with victory in the F and lower 1200M sprint to take the $500,000 winner’s money and trophy, from Appealing Harvest, Traditional Man and Mission King. The Jumbo jet stable was one two winners in the four year old 1700M race with Princess Alicia with Colin Ross edging out It’s My Turn for the $500,000 top prize and trophy as Silent Night and Another Jet rounded out the money.

Joyful Victory of the Jagdeo Stable with Trinidadian Nicholas Patrick won the $400, 000 and trophy in the G3 and lower 1200M event from Quiet Storm, Silent Night and Monsoon.

Cat Messiah of the Ghansham Singh Stable with Paul Delph  won in the ‘I’ class 1200M event and took home the $ 250,000 first  prize and trophy from Mary Ann, Savion and I want Revenge.

Windy Killer won the J and lower 1000M race.

The individual prizes compliments of Ramesh Sunich of the trophy stall Bourda Market and the organisers went to Ross. The Jumbo Jet stable again rode away with the top stable accolade with Deonarine “Black Boy” Ramroop and Sham “Short Man” Singh of the Jumbo Jet Stable being the top trainers.

Over $8.5M and some 80 horses had enter for the event.
