Pepsi Hornet sting UG Wolves

The Pepsi Hornets shut out the UG Wolves by handing them a stinging 38-nil defeat when the Bounty Farm 15s rugby tournament continued yesterday at the National Park.

Tries recorded by Rawle Cole,Elwin Chase, Jose Felicien, Mark Messiah, Felon Thompson and Delroy Gordon along with a hatrick of conversions by national captain, Ryan Gonsalves completed the Hornets schooling of the ruggers

Leon Greaves also chipped in with a conversion in the nuzzling of the Wolves.

Cole scored the first try which was converted by Greaves and that was highlight of first half action as the Hornets went to the locker room with a 7-nil lead.

After the half however, a rout was on.

Chase breached UG’s defence and Gonsalves converted to pad the score.

Felicien then put his name on the score sheet then Gonsalves again converted to put the Hornets outfit up 21-nil.

Then it was Messiah’s turn followed by Gonsalves nailing his third conversion.

Thompson and Gordon then joined the party by crossing the try line to add insult to injury.

Notes: The tournament will continue on Saturday at the same venue. Last Saturday, in the game involving the other competing clubs, the Caribs defeated GDF 47-22.
