Alpha United defeat BK Western Tigers 5-0

Alpha United hammered BK Western Tigers by a 5-0 score line when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) second division league continued at the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) ground on Vlissengen Road and Carifesta Avenue on Thursday.

Edison Gomes opened the scoring for Alpha in the seventh minute with a strike to the bottom of the net from within the penalty area.

The lead would be doubled in the 35th minute as Daniel Wilson netted, striking his right footed effort into the right hand side of the net from inside the box.

Mark Miller would make it 3-0 in the 44th minute as he found the back of the net with an easy finish to the right hand corner of the net from inside the left side of the penalty area.

Alpha would continue to increase their already sizable lead as Ashley Harding scored with a lobbed shot from the left side of the box over the advancing custodian, which settled into the left hand side.

The result would be sealed in the 89th minute as substitute Jamal Bristol etched his name on the scorer’s sheet through a right footed attempt into the bottom of the net from inside the left side of the penalty area.

In the second matchup, home side the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) defeated Santos 3-1.Keon Caesar, Carlos Adams and Mark Jnaeu led the army side with goals in the fifth, 65th and 88th minutes respectively. On target in the loss was Malcolm Wilson in the 44th minute.
