The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) crushed Houston Stars by a 4-0 score line when the Stag Beer-sponsored Georgetown Football Association (GFA) second division league continued on Tuesday at the Tucville Community ground.

Devon Baptiste opened the scoring in the very first minute for the army unit, stabbing home his right footed effort to the bottom of the net from inside the centre of the penalty area.

They would double their lead in the 27th minute as Shawn Arthur netted through a right footed penalty kick conversion to the lower left hand corner of the net, following a rash challenge within the right side of the area.

Steve Petrie would make it 3-0 in the 83rd minute with a well-placed right footed strike into the left hand corner of the net, after pouncing on a goalkeeping error inside the left side of the penalty area.

The score line would be sealed two minutes later as Carlos Adams added his name to the scorer’s sheet, rifling his right footed effort into the roof of the net from within the left side of the penalty area, after skipping past two defenders just outside the area.

In the opening fixture, Alpha ‘the Hammer’ United swamped Mocha based unit Riddim Squad by a 6-0 margin.
