David Mohamad elected president of Lusignan Golf Club

David Mohamad was elected president of the Lusignan Golf Club at its annual general meeting at the club house on Saturday.

Dr. Philbert London is the new ice president, Denise Best the secretary and Haresh Tiwari, the treasurer.

Ravi Presaud was elected assistant secretary/treasurer while Chatterpaul Deo will remain as club captain and Mike Gayadin ground superintendent.

Mohamad, who served as vice president last year and secretary in 2012, took over from Jerome Kahn who did not seek reelection. Mohamad, said he was delighted to be elected president of the LGC adding that he was looking forward to improving the club in all areas.

He also announced that there are tournaments already scheduled in the coming weeks including the Crown Mining Supplies sponsored tournament this Sunday, the Scotiabank annual tournament on June 14 and the Wartsila Guyana sponsored tournament June 21.

Outgoing President Khan in his report said that the club was in a good financial position and he thanked corporate Guyana for supporting the development of the club.

“The executive committee with the help of our valued sponsors and members hosted 30 tournaments, this represented an improvement over the previous year,” Khan declared.
