Smith, Bollers score hat tricks in St Mary’s 11-1 win

St. Mary’s High, led by an Andel Smith first-half hat trick, swamped New Campbellville Secondary 11-1 when the fourth annual Digicel national u-18 knockout football championship continued at the Eve Leary ground, Camp Street yesterday.

Smith opened the scoring for the winners as he netted in the ninth minute. It would then become 2-0 eight minutes later as Raphael Charles scored. St. Mary’s would increase their score line in the 19th minute through a Raphael Bollers strike.

New Campbellville would pull one back fortuitously in the 22nd minute following an own goal by the St. Mary’s backline. Smith would then seal his double as he found the back of the net in the 35th minute. He would then complete his hat trick compliments of a 42nd minute strike.

The lopsided encounter would continue in the second period as Alyne Haynes netted with a 60th minute conversion. The score line would continue to balloon as Sean Turney etched his name on the scorer’s sheet five minute later.

Lennox Cort would then make it 8-1, scoring through a 67th minute effort.

The score line would then read 9-1 in the 72nd minute as Colin Denny found the back of the net. St. Mary’s would then net their 10th goal of the match as Bollers sealed his double in the 81st minute.

The result would be sealed eight minutes later as Bollers completed his hat trick. Over at the Wisburg Secondary School ground, Mackenzie High crushed home side Wisburg Secondary by a 3-0 score line. Quailan Andries opened the scoring for the visitors as he netted with a ninth minute effort.

Kellon Primo would then double their lead as he found the back of the net through a 24th minute attempt.

The result would be sealed in the second period as Anthony Allicock etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 55th minute.
