Lloyd to give pep talk to youth cricketers

Former West Indies Captain Clive Lloyd will today deliver an address to the Under-16, 17 and 19 Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) players who were selected to represent Guyana in the upcoming Regional cricket tournaments at the Demerara Cricket Club pavilion at 10:00hrs.

According to DCC President Alfred Mentore, the legendary former West Indies captain will impart cricketing knowledge to the youngsters who will depart these shores looking to put themselves and Guyana on the map.

An elated Mentore further stated that “For all the hard work we have been doing at the club along with Coach Garvin Nedd who has been spending quality time with players, we have sowed a lot of seeds so we continue to reap the rewards”.

Elaborating about the work Nedd has done over the years despite challenges, Mentore expounded by saying “I would truly like to commended him for selfless time and commitment shown to the youngsters, and I commend him for has rising above the challenges faced”.

The departure schedule for the U-17 team is tomorrow Sunday 6th July while the U-15 team will leave later in the week.

Under 15 selectees – Ashmead Nedd, Sagar Hatharamani, Alphius Bookie and Bojnarine Singh

Under 17 selectees -Sherfane Rutherford, Travis Persaud, Ranoldo Renee, Raymond Perez and Timothy Mc Calmont

Under 19 selectees- Kemol Savoury, Brian Sattaur and Kemo Paul
