Guyana U17’s fail to advance after 0-3 defeat to Dominican Republic

Guyana failed to qualify for the final round of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) u-17 qualifying tournament, going down to hosts Dominican Republic in their final Group-3 matchup on Tuesday at the Estadio Panamericano.

Needing a win to give themselves a chance of progressing to the next round after being locked on four points with Barbados, Guyana went down to the local side by a 3-0 score line to finish third within the group.

Barbados in their final matchup defeated Antigua & Barbuda by a 2-0 margin to top Group-3 with seven points and waltz into the finals round. The Guyana unit is expected to return to local shores tomorrow.
