Pepsi Hikers, GCC A among winners as Noble House hockey commences

Pepsi Hikers crushed Old Fort Vikings (+5) by a 10-5 score line in a senior division match of the Noble House Goals Galore Indoor Hockey handicap championships which commenced on Monday at the National Gymnasium.

Robert France led the way for the winners with a hat trick while Aroydy Branford, Jamarj Assanah and Leon Bacchus netted two goals each.

Michael Harding completed the score line with a solo strike.

In the second match in the division, GCC-A (+3) overcame St. Stanislaus (+6) by a 13-7 score. Trevon Smith and Orland Semple led the offence with respective hat-tricks. Assisting with a double was Mark Sargeant while Peter DeGroot and Devin Hooper netted one goal apiece.

The final match of the division saw GCC Blue Steel (+7) defeating Old Fort Gladiators (+8) by an 18-9 margin. Eric Hing, Keon McKenzie and Michael Craig registered hat tricks in the win while Kareem McKenzie netted a double. The Gladiators lone goal came through a penalty stroke by Omar Hopkinson.

In division-B, Hikers Revelation (+8) defeated GCC Tigers 8-3. Adopting a defensive posture, Revelations held off the Tigers who managed to net three times through the Ashely DeGroot double and a Trisha Woodroffe solo effort.

Continuing in the same division, GCC Spartans (+1) defeated Hikers Ladies (+3) 7-4. Marzana Fiedtkou netted five goals in the win while Aliyah Gordon fund the back of the net once. Latacea Chung netted the only goal for the losers.

The final fixture in the section witnessed Old Fort Shooting Stars (+15) edging Saints (+6) by a 15-12 score line.
