Kuru-Kururu Warriors outplay Mocha Champs

Kuru-Kururu Warriors overcame Mocha Champs by a 3-2 score line when the Stag Beer-sponsored East Bank Football Association (EBFA) division one league continued on Sunday at the Grove Community Centre ground.

Sherwin Fordyce gave Mocha Champs the early lead compliments of a fifth- minute conversion. The Soesdyke outfit would eventually level proceedings as R. Haimnauth etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 37th minute.

However Mocha would retake the lead under fortuitous circumstances in the second period through a 75th minute own goal. Nonetheless Kuru-Kururu Warriors would equalize once more as C. Johnson found the back of the net six minutes later.

The Warriors would then complete the come-from-behind win, taking the lead for the first time in the matchup as Mocha conceded an unfortunate own goal by Dwayne Layne in the 84th minute.

In the opening matchup, Soesdyke Falcons clawed their way past Herstelling FC by a 4-0 margin. Colin Holder opened the scoring for the winners as he found the back of the net in the 33rd minute. The lead would then be doubled in the 60th minute through a Roger Dey strike.

Kisey Benson would then add to the score line as he netted 10 minutes later. The matchup would then be completed in the 80th minute compliments of an Ulato Sam effort.
