Guyana stifle J/ca for fourth win in rain-affected encounter

Guyana stifled Jamaica in their rain affected match to claim their fourth victory of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Regional Under-19 Limited Overs Tournament yesterday at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) ground, Bourda.

Guyana defended 175 to win by 68 runs on the Duckworth-Lewis calculation. Having a maximum of 30 overs to reach the target, Jamaica was off to a bad start, losing West Indies U-19 player Leroy Lugg off the fourth delivery of the innings. He was caught by the midwicket fielder off Balchand Baldeo’s bowling for nought. Shortly after Lugg’s demise, Odain Mc Catty was run out for eight attempting a suicidal fourth run after he played the ball past the mid-on fielder.
