King wins Geddes Grant feature event

Mario King reigned over a field of Guyana’s premier wheelsmen to cart off the spoils of the feature 35-lap event of the 11th annual Geddes Grant sponsored 11-race programme at the National Park on Saturday.

The Team United rider took pole position in a record one hour, 13 minutes and 45 seconds, lowering the previous mark (1h1:14m:29s)  held by his club mate Orville Hinds.

King led national cyclist Raynauth Jeffrey and Raymond Newton onto the podium while Hamza Eastman, Alanzo Greaves and Chris Holder filled out the top six paid positions.

Other winners of the programme included Alonzo Ambrose (Juveniles), Emmanuel Gayraul (Mountain Bike), Junior Niles (Veterans Under-50), Linden Blackman (Veterans Over-50), Rakeem Blair (12-14 Boys and Girls), Maurice Fagundes (Veterans Over-60), Sherwin Sampson (BMX 6-9 and 9-12) and Sherwin Forde (BMX Open).
