Graham punches way to best boxer award

Clifton Graham shone the brightest of all the up and coming stars of the fistic sport by punching his way to the best boxer award of this year’s two-night Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) National Intermediate Championship.

At the open air event which concluded Sunday night at East Ruimveldt Community Centre ground, the Republican Boxing Gym product out boxed Young Achievers’ Jason Phillips to win 3-0 in their 69 kg bout and cement his status as the best boxer of the championship.

The performance of Graham and his gym mates over the weekend allowed the pugilists from Lot 12 Camp Street to lift the Best Gym award ahead of the GDF gym.

Republican also won the Best Gym award at the Novices championships in May.
