Bicyclists set for sixty-mile road race

The Ministry of Health and Hassan Mohamed will team up tomorrow to pedal off a 60-mile road race in observance of Caribbean Wellness Day 2014.

According to Mohamed on Wednesday, the event will commence at the Square of the Revolution at 13:00hrs with a rolling start. The wheelsmen will then proceed to Conversation Tree for the official start of the race which will continue to Half Way Tree, Mahaicony and return to Ocean View Hotel for the finish.

Lucrative prizes are up for grabs and cyclists are asked to be at the starting line an hour before the race starts for registration.

As customary, the first six overall riders will be handsomely rewarded.

The top three juniors, veterans and mountain bikers will also pocket prizes. Eight sprint prizes will be on offer throughout the trek.

There will also be a special incentive for the first over-60 year finisher.
