An air of confidence is blowing around the Full Works team as the GMR&SC’s ‘Race of Champions’ event looms.

Ace drivers Roshan Ali, Kassim Hussain, Naresh Ramkellawan, Sean Seejatan, Mohamed Ali and Nasad Ali are all looking to make waves with the checkered flag.

Team boss Roshan, who will compete in the Group one and Group three categories, has waved the black and white flag on many occasions and is confident of leaving his rivals in the rear view by mirroring his past achievements come Sunday. that he will race with in Group three, has an engine which is expected to be the class of the field.

He will also put pedal to the metal with his Honda Civic in Group one.

Hussain, a seven-year veteran of the motor sport will also push a Honda Civic to the limits in the Group one category. Like Ali, he is also “looking to fly the checkered flag.” Quizzed on his plans for Sunday, Hussain quickly replied “to finish on the podium.”

The Honda Civic must be a favorite speed machine among the Team Full Works daredevils as Seejatan will also pilot one of the four-wheeled rockets.

“The Civic is dialed in,” said last year’s endurance co-champion yesterday at the Full Works Good Hope, ECD workshop.

“I expect to finish in the top three and I’m confident that I will.” Seejatan will also compete in Group three with his Toyota Starlet.

Mohamed who has emerged Group one’s champion for the past two years, plans to make it a ‘three-peat’ with his Toyota Corolla.

Nasad and Ramkellawan who is Team Full Works lead mechanic, also signalled their intentions of finishing on the podium.

Seejatan and Hussain then encouraged race fans to come out and support the local speedsters on Sunday.

Group 4 drivers along with the Go-Kart pushers will provide exhilarating, adrenaline rushing excitement to race fans. So too will the Super Bikers.

Drivers from Suriname and Trinidad will add some international flavour to the meet.

Action starts from 10:00 hrs.
