Jeffrey, Greaves dominate Dash For Cash race

Raynauth Jeffrey rode off with the Alanzo Greaves ‘Dash For Cash’ 30-lap winner’s trophy yesterday at the National Park but second place finisher Greaves rode to the bank.

The Team Coco’s standout led Greaves and Marlon ‘Fishy Williams onto the podium in Greaves’ birthday event to earn the winner’s purse ($10,000) but Greaves was content on winning the sprint prizes and pocketed $26,000 in primes.

In the lucrative event, Jeffrey completed the course amid sunny conditions in a scorching one hour, four minutes and 21 seconds and also earned $14,000 in primes to pad his earnings to $24,000.

Greaves carted off another $8,000 for placing second while Williams won $6000 for finishing third.

Other sprint prize winners included sixth place finisher Robin Persaud (eight primes), Jamal John (seven), Stephano Hus-bands (six), fourth place finisher, Hamza Eastman and Albert Philander.

The BMX riders  (6-9 years) Jeremiah Harrison, Alex Leung,Chris Goring, (9-12 years) Sherwin Sampson, Thuran Garbarran and Nicholas D’Andrade also pocketed incentives. Notes: The event was staged to celebrate Greaves 25th birth anniversary on Tuesday. Each lap had a sprint prize worth $2000 except that 28th and 30th laps. The 28th lap winner (Greaves) earned a super prime worth $22,000 while final lap won by Jeffrey was worth $12,000.
