Hinds romps to victory in Digicel Breast Cancer Awareness road race

Lindener Orville Hinds on Sunday won the grueling Digicel sponsored Breast Cancer Awareness cycle road race in 2h 39m 29s. Paul de Nobrega was second and Robin Persaud third.

The race which started at the Berbice Bridge and ended at the National Park’s entrance on Carifesta Avenue, saw Andrew Greaves finishing fourth, Gebron Crawford, fifth and Marlon Williams sixth. When the race got underway, Persaud, Alanzo Greaves and Hinds set the tone by taking the early lead. However, Hinds persisted and gained a slim lead from the Abari Bridge while a few other cyclists challenged him. After the initial break away at the Abary Bridge, the Lindener kept with his pace before eventually pulling away for the win which also won him all three of the primes.
