The committee of Flex Night International hosted an athletes’ meeting yesterday at the Guyana Olympic Association’s headquarters.
The meeting, which was for competitors, coaches, gym managers and media representatives for their December 7 fixture, dealt with a myriad of topics. They included pre-judging procedures, prizes and the format also appropriate attire for both male and female bodybuilding events.
The athletes and gym managers in attendance also received their Flex Night registration forms and other relevant information relating to their participation in the December event set for the National Cultural Centre.
During the briefing, Chairman of Flex Night Inc. Donald Sinclair also disclosed the prize structure for the top athletes.
In the male category, the winner will pocket an appetizing $200,000 while the winners of the female categories will take home half that amount.
This year’s edition will feature for the first time the Men’s Physique segment along with the customary, Mr. Flex Night, Ms. Bikini and Ms. Best Legs categories.
Flex Night 2014 was officially launched on September 30 when gym owners, sponsors and the media were hosted at the Herdmanston Lodge.
Flex Night 2014 climaxes the year of bodybuilding activities in Guyana and will bring together male and female athletes from gyms in Georgetown, East and West Demerara, Linden and Berbice as well as from three overseas territories.
