“We are very proud to promote golfing in Guyana and to be involved in promoting Guyana in the international business community.

When I started eight years ago with the Macorp-sponsored tournament, the participation was about 20 golfers. It is encouraging that today there were over 60 golfers. We consider all these golfers our family and are proud to be involved in helping to make Guyana bigger and better. Golfing is part of the life of the Guyana business community. I do hope the government and the private sector will promote more golf support in Guyana. We are very happy that there are international players who have come to participate in this tournament and I am hoping that in the future there can be international sponsorship of a tournament here in Guyana,” said Medina.

Club President David Mohamad expressed his gratitude.

“I wish to thank Macorp and Managing Director, Jorge Medina, for promoting this tournament, one of our premier tournaments. I am also grateful for the many family and friends who came out. Thanks too to the golfers who travelled from overseas to be part of this annual Macorp Classic Tournament, as well as to all the local golfers who participated,” he said.
