Guyana lose 0-3 to B/dos in CAC Games hockey

Team Guyana ended their 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games hockey campaign in the sixth position, losing to Barbados 3-0 in the fifth place playoff of the 5-8 positional plate event yesterday.

Keisha Jordan opened the scoring for the Barbadians at the High Performance Center in Veracruz, Mexico with a penalty corner conversion in the 11th minute of the 70 minute encounter.

Vanessa Chewitt would then make it 2-0 11 minutes later through a field goal strike as Barbados took a 2-0 lead into the half time interval.

Barbados would then complete the victory in the 60th of the second period as Chewitt sealed her double with another field goal attempt. With the loss, the local ladies finish sixth out of a possible eight position. They are expected to return on local shores shortly.
