Sixty steeds for Rising Sun meet

The ‘Sport of Kings’ returns to the Rising Sun Turf Club tomorrow

with the staging of an eight-race meet dubbed ‘Champions of Champions’.

In excess of $7M will be on offer for the Rising Sun Turf Club/Shariff Business Enterprise and Racing Stable collaborative fixture which is scheduled to attract Guyana’s premier trotters.

Score Even, Princess She Not, California Strike, Church House, Run Nana Run,  Settle in Seattle and the newly imported Plum Plum of the Shariff stable are set to saddle up in the feature A and Lower seven-furlong event which has a winning stake of $1M.

Other events carded include the E3 and lower (seven furlong) the Two year-old West Indies bred, the G3 and lower, the Two year-old race for Guyana born animals, the ’I’ class and the J class.

Sixty steeds have already been registered by their stable owners.

Some are the newly imported Just Call Me Boss, Spit Fire, Good Will Boy, Mission King, Unsettled, Right to Rule, Rosetta, Storm Bird, It’s My Choice, Gold De Kova, Miss Lewinsky, Swing Easy, Settling Star, Silent Night, She Running Hard, Compador, Midnight Blues, Release the Beast, Royal Empire and Settling Jet.

Reputable entities onboard so far include: Banks DIH Limited, Trophy Stall, Republic Bank, Genequip (John Deere) Company, Jumbo Jet, Shano Seenarine, Younas Construction, KP Jagdeo Construction and Colin Elock’s Delmur Shipping Company.

The Trophy Stall in Bourda Market will provide sponsorship for the top individual performers including champion jockey, champion trainer and champion stable.
