NBA: New Orleans defeats Oklahoma

Pelicans 112, Thunder 104

Tyreke Evans scored 15 consecutive fourth-quarter points en route to a season-high 30, as New Orleans ruined Kevin Durant’s season debut with a 112-104 victory over Oklahoma City at the Smoothie King Center.

Pelicans forward Anthony Davis added 25 points, 10 rebounds, six steals and four blocks.

In his first game after missing nearly seven weeks with a broken right foot, Durant played 29 minutes and scored a team-high 27 points on 9-of-18 shooting. Russell Westbrook scored 21 points but finished 6-for-20 from the floor.

Mavericks 132, Bulls 129 (double overtime)

The Dallas Mavericks needed all of Monta Ellis’ game-high 38 points to record a 132-129 double-overtime win over Chicago at the United Center.

Ellis scored seven of the Mavericks’ 11 points in the second overtime frame, including a long three-pointer with 39 seconds left to put Dallas in front for good 130-129.

It was the fourth win in a row, and eighth in the past 10 games, for the Mavericks (14-5), who also got 22 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds from Dirk Nowitzki.

Chandler Parsons scored 24 points, and Devin Harris added 20 for Dallas.
