Grove Hi-Tech downed Beterverwagting (BV)/Triumph United by a 2-0 score line when the ECFA/EBFA and BFA Stag Beer Super 16 Knockout tourney continued on Friday at the Grove Community Centre ground.
Domini Garnett opened the scoring for the home side as he found the back of the net compliments of a ninth minute strike. Orson Francois would then complete the score line, etching his name on the scorer’s sheet through a 15th minute attempt.
With the victory, Grove Hi-Tech will now faceoff with the winner of the Buxton United and Kuru-Kururu Warriors matchup in the quarterfinal round on Christmas Day.
In the opening matchup, Ann’s Grove squeaked past Agricola Red Triangle by a 1-0 margin. Quincy Johnson was on target for the East Coast of Demerara unit in the 29th minute. The action is set to continue today at the No. #5 ground in the West Coast of Berbice with a doubleheader.
In the opening fixture, New Amsterdam United will faceoff with Timehri Panthers from 18:00hrs while Rosignol United will lock horns with Mahaica Determinators from 20:00hrs in the feature showdown.
