Banks twists and shouts in video for new song ‘Beggin For Thread’

(Billboard) – Excited yet for Jillian Banks’ debut album? You should be. Since popping up on the blogosphere radar last year, Banks has transcended buzz artist status and now holds one of the year’s most hotly anticipated debuts.

Even if you’re skeptical of the trendy genre some call “PBR&B” (let’s face it, who can blame you), Banks’ latest song is undeniable. After staying in the shadows with moody, Weekend-esque dirges on her debut EP and subsequent singles, “Beggin For Thread” is Banks’ first song that you can actually dance to. Not only that, it’s probably her best track yet.

In her brand new music video, Banks twists and contorts in black and white amidst a team of dancers and a big white stallion.

‘Goddess’, her debut album, drops September 9 via Harvest. Along with “Beggin For Thread,” it also features previously-shared songs “Goddess,” “Waiting Game,” “Brain,” “This Is What It Feels Like,” “Drowning,” “Warm Water,” and “Change.”

Thanks to the attention from the new video, Banks’ “Beggin For Thread” currently sits at No 4 on the Twitter Realtime Chart. And on her own account, the singer has clearly been feeling the love lately.

Banks has been named as one of the artists to watch this year.
