Uzi, shotgun seized in T&T police exercise

(Trinidad Express) An exercise conducted on Saturday morning in Morvant by officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force resulted in the discovery of a Uzi submachine gun, a 12-gauge pump action shotgun, and an army jacket.

Police reports said the exercise was conducted between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. under the supervision of Senior Superintendent Radcliff Boxill, with assistance from Inspector Archibald, Sgt Bharath, PC Rambaran, PC Rogers, PC Richards, PC Berkley, PC Edmund, and PC Moonesar, among others.

The officers, acting on information received, made their way to Pelican Extension, Morvant, where they searched several abandoned lots.

During the search, the officers came across a bag which had the two weapons, as well as six rounds of 9mm ammunition and five rounds of 12-gauge ammunition.

The illegal items were seized.

There were no people in the vicinity at the time of discovery so no one was arrested.
