Family pleads for De Willem’s teen safe return

One month on…

One month has passed since 14-year-old Seema Poloram went missing and family members are still seeking assistance from the public to locate her as they plead for her safe return.

According to reports, Poloram, also called ‘Usha’ left her Lot ‘E’ De Willem, West Coast Demerara home on December 3, for school; she never returned.

Speaking to Stabroek News yesterday, her aunt Marlene Poloram called on anyone who may have knowledge of the whereabouts of her niece to come forward.

She further stated that she would like to tell Seema that she should return home and that they will not disown or punish her.

“We just want she come home. We won’t do her anything. We begging, begging that she come home. If she could make contact with us we will go collect her,” the distraught woman said.

Marlene Poloram said that there was word of her niece being seen with a male in Berbice but she refuted all assertions that she “got away with a boy” since she was never allowed to go anywhere alone and was never seen with anyone unfamiliar.

Seema was last seen wearing a blue dress and white shirt, with a blue tie. Anyone with information that can lead to her whereabouts is asked to call 216-1885, 277-0464 or contact the nearest police station.
