Two days of activities to mark International Women’s Day

Women with a common story, one voice and one mission, have come together to speak of being survivors of domestic violence in the hope that their stories will help to free other women.

A collaborative effort of Caribbean American Domestic Violence Awareness (CADVA) and One Billion Rising, the two days of activities targeting victims of domestic violence will see performances in the arts in different forms, each telling a unique story aiming to meet someone at the point of their need.

Today at Pegasus the event will kick off at 10 am with International Rising which coincides with the observance of International Women’s Day.

Then the Cultural Centre will light up on Monday at 7 pm with ‘Let the Women Speak, The Revolution Unveiled – Red Revolution Gala’ where guest speakers both local and international will tell ‘Her stories’. There will also be a tribute to the late Dr Faith Harding.
