PPP appeals for votes at Meten-Meer-Zorg

A resounding call was made on Thursday evening for supporters of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) to come out in their numbers on elections day and vote to keep the party in power.

Speaking at a meeting at Meten-Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara, Director of Sport, Neil Kumar told the enthusiastic gathering that they should not allow the days when they suffered under the People’s National Congress, to return.

He reminded them about the ballot box martyrs, the days of the National Service and when they had to line up for groceries.

Kumar emphasized the progress made by the government and said the country has been transformed.

He noted that more could have been done if the opposition had not voted against the bills for the Amaila Falls Hydro Power and other projects.

Kumar also spoke about the cheap cost for dental and eye care and noted that many persons visiting from overseas would use the opportunity to get them done here.
