Attorney at law and former Magistrate Fazil Azeez was today shot by a lone gunman at Eccles on the East Bank.
He is in hospital in a stable condition.
The police this evening issued the following release:
At about 1155h. today Saturday April 25, 2015, Attorney-at-Law Fazil Azeez of Dowding Street, Kitty, was at Eccles, EBD, when he was held up by a man armed with a firearm who demanded cash.
Fazal Azeez resisted and was shot to his abdomen by the armed man who escaped after persons in the area came out upon hearing the discharge of the firearm.
Fazal Azeez has been admitted to hospital as the investigations continue.
